Miya Masaoka (innate 1958) is a musician and composer who performs on the Japanese zither-like instrument a koto, often augmenting it by using string preparations & electronic triggers (when within her "Koto
Monster", in which extra laser beam "strings" hover over
a koto).
She is known for originative, improvisational system,
& the sensibility that combines experimental Western
approaches by owning a tradition of the koto.
Her compositions own involved works for big ensembles
